چکیده
This paper deals with multi-stage lotsizing models for imperfect production processes. The e ect of imperfect quality on lotsizing decisions and e ect of inspection errors are taken into consideration in the proposed models. Numerical examples are presented for illustration purposes. The developed models are very helpful for justifying quality assurance and quality improvement e orts.

Two-Stage Imperfect Production Systems with Inspection Errors
The effect of imperfect production processes on lot sizing decisions received a lot of attention in the literature. These efforts have been almost confined to single stage production systems. The issue of imperfect production processes has not been adequately addressed in the context of multistage production/inventory systems. In this paper, we propose a two-stage production inventory model tha...
متن کاملIntegrated production-Inventory model with price-dependent demand, imperfect quality, and investment in quality and inspection
In practice, manufacturing systems are never perfect and may have low quality outputs. Therefore, different decisions such as reprocessing, sale at lower prices or diminishing are made according to industry and market. This paper investigates the importance of supply chain coordination through developing two models in centralized decision-making for an imperfect quality manufacturing system wit...
متن کاملCost Analysis of Acceptance Sampling Models Using Dynamic Programming and Bayesian Inference Considering Inspection Errors
Acceptance Sampling models have been widely applied in companies for the inspection and testing the raw material as well as the final products. A number of lots of the items are produced in a day in the industries so it may be impossible to inspect/test each item in a lot. The acceptance sampling models only provide the guarantee for the producer and consumer that the items in the lots are acco...
متن کاملLot sizing and quality investment with quality cost analyses for imperfect production and inspection processes with commercial return
This study examines an imperfect production and inspection system with customer return and defective disposal. We develop an optimal lot sizing model with production and inspection quality investment, incorporating all the quality costs. We find the optimal lot size, rework frequency, defective proportion, and Type I and Type II inspection error proportions which minimize the total quality cost...
متن کاملOptimal Manufacturer-Retailer Policies in a Supply Chain with Defective Product and Price Dependent Demand
This study deals with a two-level supply chain consisting of one manufacturer and one retailer. We consider an integrated production inventory system where the manufacturer processes raw materials in order to deliver finished product with imperfect quality to the retailer, where number of defective product has a uniform distribution. The retailer receives product and conducts a 100% inspection....
